A museum for everything that moves you
Bury Transport Museum is housed within a Grade II listed ex-railway warehouse that dates from 1848. After a £3m refit it reopened in March 2010. Restored to its former glory, it now houses a collection of vintage vehicles including buses, steam rollers and trams.
Hands-on interactive exhibits explain the development of transport in the Northwest, how the Goods Warehouse was used and the types of materials that would have been handled here.
Purpose-built education rooms and outside picnic area for use by school groups.
The museum is geared towards families and there will be a varied events programme throughout the year. There's even a bus simulator to test your driving skill! Fully accessible for visitors in wheelchairs with easy access from the dedicated parking spots.
Working in partnership with other local attractions, such as the Fusilier's Museum and Bury Art Gallery and Museum, they use the outside area as a community exhibition space.
Open Wed to Sun and Bank Holidays, 10.00am -4.00pm
