While Manchester has an enviable array of large art galleries, it's worth seeking out the smaller, less obvious galleries too. Within an unassuming exterior on Portland Street lies a real gem of a gallery: the Centre for the Urban Built Environment, or CUBE for short.

Dedicated to the fusion of art and architecture, it is the only gallery of its kind in the North West of England and bills itself as "One of Europe's most exciting art, architecture and design centres".
