A working 18th Century water powered cotton mill set in beautiful National Trust country parkland in the Cheshire village of Styal.
Quarry Bank Mill truly is living history; with noisy, hissing and clattering steam engines driven by Europe's most powerful waterwheel alongside demonstrations of how cotton was transformed into cloth, you can experience the industrial revolution first-hand.
Beyond the mill, you can take a guided tour of the Apprentice House, which housed the pauper children who worked in the mill, and stroll through the picturesque garden adjoining the mill.
Cloth produced by the mill's machines is for sale in the on-site shop.
