It was named Large Visitor Attraction of the Year 2014 in the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence.
Many choose to visit the stunning 19th century mansion and 50 acres of award winning gardens with over 200 years of history and design. Families enjoy the working rare breed farm and one of the best adventure playgrounds in the area. The Tudor Old Hall offers an evocative tour through time covering 500 years of history. It is also the ideal setting for Tatton's historical re-enactments.
Tatton Park is regarded as one of Britain's most comprehensive historic estates with evidence of Stone Age people hunting on the site and farming activity in the Bronze Age. The estate was acquired by the Egerton family in 1598 and owned by them for a further 360 years. Tatton Park was left to the National Trust on the death of Maurice, 4th and last Baron Egerton of Tatton, in 1958.
Tatton Park hosts a varied programme of over 100 events each year ranging from rewarding adult learning courses to classic car shows and entertaining outdoor theatre to informative exhibitions.
Stableyard shopping and dining includes several shops and a quality restaurant specialising in fresh local produce and a new Gardener's Cottage tea room which combine to make Tatton Park a perfect day out.
