5 great Pride Fringe events

There's more to Manchester Pride than just the Big Weekend. Here are some of the other events taking place.

1.

A Night at the Movies

The Odeon goes Pink for Pride with an exciting programme of camp classics and iconic films. Don your feather boa and best Dorothy shoes for another chance to see your favourite films on the big screen! The programme will include classics like 'Priscilla Queen of the Desert' and 'Some Like It Hot'.

Pride Chamber Music

A series of lunchtime recitals celebrating music by LGBT composers past and present. Performers include Leon McCawley, pictured.

Discover Scuba Diving

As part of Pride Fringe's Sport and Health strand, this two hour session will allow you to enjoy a short brief before being kitted up and let loose, under supervision, in the pool. Book early as places are limited.

Out in the Past Heritage Trail

The tales of the once dark and closeted area around Manchester’s Canal Street are now the focus of an out and proud heritage trail – ‘Out in the Past’. Hear key facts and amusing stories of Manchester’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) history from the past 200 years. The trail incorporates a variety of sites including; Mantos, the Village’s first openly gay bar and the statue of Alan Turing, the WW2 mathematician famously persecuted for his homosexuality.

Come along and meet other LGBT families for a day of fun activities for you and your family.
