Ian Cheeseman - Top 5

BBC Radio Manchester's Ian Cheeseman shares his favourite places to visit in Manchester.

The Etihad Stadium

As the BBC Radio Manchester football commentator for all MCFC games, my number one place to visit in Manchester has to be The Etihad Stadium. You can visit a match, take the stadium and club tour and even visit the new City Football Academy. More info.

I love working in MediaCityUK not only for the modern state-of-the-art buildings, but also for the historic aspect. You can see the beautiful new architecture, and even pop across the road to The Lowry where my son works. More info.

Manchester City Centre

The city itself has fantastic architecture. Along with Piccadilly Gardens, a great tram network, and great places to shop and eat, the city centre is a great place to visit. More info.

Train Stations and Airport

Piccadilly, Victoria, and Oxford Road Train Station, along with Manchester Airport, are fantastic transport hubs. It's an exciting place to visit not only as it usually signifies the start of a holiday, but it is a great place to get a feel of the city by watching people. More info.

Manchester Arena

I watched the very first event, Torvill and Dean on Ice, and I have been to many brilliant shows since. It's a huge and a fantastic arena to visit. More info.
