Kelly Massey's Top 5

Double Commonwealth and European Relay Medallist, Kelly Massey shares her favourite things to do in Greater Manchester.

I’m a Sale Harrier and I do athletics so obviously number one has got to be SportCity. Not only is there the indoor and outdoor athletics tracks, there’s the velodrome, squash centre, gymnastics and tennis, so there’s a multitude of sports you can take part in. More info.

Alderley Edge

We train there on a Sunday usually on the hills, but it’s also a great place to go for a walk and there are cafes, bars and boutique shops which you can go to. More info.

Fuzion Noodle Bar

After all the training, I love to go to Fuzion noodle bar in Fallowfield. It’s got really good prices, and the portion sizes are massive – I like the Malaysian Laksa and anything that’s got salt and pepper in the title is definitely worth a try. More info.

Levenshulme Antique Village and Failsworth Mill

I really like to upcycle and I like old things, so two of my favourite places to go to are Levenshulme Antique Village and Failsworth Mill even if I’m not going to buy anything I like to potter around and look at all of the antique furniture. More info.

Northern Quarter

Whether it’s going for breakfast, lunch or dinner, there are loads of places to eat as well as quirky little shops, and clubs and bars. I really like the arts and crafts centre too, but if you can get a seat, go to Sugar Junction because it’s really good. More info.
