How the city discovered the world
Manchester tour guide Ed Glinert takes us on a trip to some of Manchester's most significant buildings and shows how the city has taken its architectural inspiration from sources around the world.
The tour features the Friends Meeting House, the Free Trade Hall (now home to the Radisson Edwardian Hotel), Manchester Town Hall, Lee House and the Beetham Tower.
The music's too loud, there's too much traffic noise, and a LOT of spectacles and lips. The clip will definitely not attract any visitors to your city...occasional visitor from Finland
Too many close ups, eye squints, swaying about, wind blowing on mic and off-putting spit swallowing. Is this the best we can do?A Mancunian
Thanks for your comments, Occasional Visitor and Mancunian. However, please do take a look around the site as we already have lots of different styles of video on here. For another video tour, try the Northern Quarter tour or see our Legoland and Airkix videos that let the attractions do the talking. We have interviews with notable people around Greater Manchester, a look at the MOSI redevelopment, even some simple footage of a Metrolink tram in service. It's all on the site to be discovered and to add variety and richness to users' experiences. We'll be adding more regularly and drawing attention to the variety of videos we have via our front page as the weeks and months progress. This clip is very interesting, however, the traffic DOES make a lot of noise... :SBob Dylan
