Metrolink trams provide fast, frequent and easy travel from the city centre to Bury, Altrincham and Eccles. The lines serve attractions including Old Trafford and Salford Quays.

Extensions to MediaCity UK, Chorlton, Droylsden, Oldham and Rochdale are currently under construction, with further extensions to Manchester Airport, East Didsbury and Ashton-under-Lyne planned for the future.
