Disney’s The Lion King

Set against the majesty of the Serengeti Plains to the evocative rhythms of Africa, this spectacular production explodes with glorious colours, stunning effects and enchanting music.

Disney's The Lion King, based on the beloved animated film, tells the compelling tale of Simba, the young lion cub, as he journeys through life and struggles to accept the responsibilities of adulthood and his destined role of King.

The award-winning musical was adapted for the stage by director Julie Taymor, who drew upon various theatrical styles and cultures to create an extraordinary vision that has enthralled audiences across the globe.

Featuring songs including Circle of Life, Hakuna Matata, Can You Feel the Love Tonight and Be Prepared, the show has been seen by over 65 million people worldwide since its Broadway premiere in 1997 and played a sell out run of 166 performances at the Palace Theatre in 2012/13. The show returns to the Palace Theatre, Manchester for five weeks only.
