LS Lowry: The Art & The Artist

A permanent display of the best of LS Lowry.

The Lowry houses the world's largest public collection of paintings and drawings by LS Lowry. There are over 400 works in the collection, 57 of which are oil paintings.

This permanent exhibition includes classic work such as Going to the Match (1953), Coming from the Mill (1930), Man Lying on a Wall (1957) and Portrait of Ann (1957). It also looks at Lowry's contemporaries and highlights what life was like in in Salford in the early 1900s.

Alongside the works of art is an archive containing thousands of items ranging from photographs to press cuttings and exhibition catalogues.

Free admission.

Opening times: Sunday to Friday from 11am - 5pm and Saturdays from 10am - 5pm.
