Saving Lives

13 October 2012 - 1 September 2013

Saving Lives: Frontline Medicine in a Century of Conflict is a major new exhibition at IWM North which explores the almost primal desire to save lives in that most difficult of situations: war.

It features powerful personal stories, artefacts from the IWM collections, and new material brought together for the first time, all demonstrating how frontline medicine not only saves lives on the battleground but has led to the sorts of scientific advances now taken for granted.

As always, expect a powerful, thought-provoking show that illuminates both the positive and negative impacts of war, and is both historic (looking at the World Wars) and contemporary (the front line in Afghanistan).
