Barry is ‘Mr Saturday Night’, a television entertainer adored by the whole nation. But behind the bright lights and dazzling smile, Barry’s world is crumbling around him. Soon to be divorced, with falling ratings and an inability to stay off the booze, desperate Barry believes his salvation has come in the form of two private bankers, ready to give him the five star treatment he deserves.

Liz and Greg are two tabloid journalists posing as private bankers, determined to get the scoop of the year, no matter what lengths they have to go to. When Barry opens up to them, his revelations are the least of the surprises in this dark game of power and deception.

Dumb Show is a fierce satire on the relationship between the morality of the press and the ethics of celebrity culture. This black comedy is even more relevant today than it was when written in 2004.
