The Bridgewater Way is a regeneration project that will create a 65km/39 mile leisure route for walkers and cyclists along the historic Bridgewater Canal. The project is a fresh approach to the use of the towpath as a connection between communities around the Mersey Basin and the North West. Cyclists are now being encouraged to use improved sections of the canal towpath known as the Bridgewater Way. To identify where cycling is permitted please see The Bridgewater Way Web Site.
Fishing on the Bridgewater Canal is licensed to a number of fishing clubs. Various fish are found in the canal requiring different skills and knowledge fish include Rudd, Roach, Carp, Perch, Bream, Tench and Pike.
