Irwell Works Brewery
The Irwell Works Brewery building dates from 1888. Used as an engineering works until a few years ago, Irwell Works now houses a 6BBL brewery and brewery tap. Brewing started in November of 2010 and ‘Copper Plate’ a 3.8% abv session bitter was overall winner of the Bury Beer festival later the same month. There are many more beers available and some refreshing summer ales. The brewery provides small plates of good Lancashire fayre, soups and breads and also uses its beer in recipes too. Food is fresh and cooked the same day so once it’s gone it’s gone. For more information about food that is grown, reared and produced throughout Greater Manchester go to visitmanchester.com/food
