A bicycle affixed to the frontage of this Italian restaurant provides a clue as to this building's former life - once Rogerson's Cycle Shop, for the last 8 years it's been trading as Trattoria Sorrento.
One thing you're sure of here is that the produce is authetically Italian - owner Luciano is a key member of Ciao Italia, an organisation founded in 1982 in Rome and dedicated to promoting Italian cuisine and using only genuine Italian products. So the wine selection of 17 whites and 27 reds is exclusively Italian and much of the food is imported direct from Italy.
The emphasis is on fresh pasta as well as fresh fish delivered daily and a good selection of meats. The interior is light, airy and contemporary with tiled floors and a lively atmosphere created by the open kitchen. Sunday lunch is good value at three courses for £13.95.
