Burrs Country Park

Located just a mile outside of Bury Town Centre, this walk is easily accessible and a great option for families too. The East Lancashire Railway runs along the edge of the park, and in January a new station was opened to link the popular heritage railway directly with Burrs Country Park. The River Irwell also meanders through, allowing thrill seekers to participate in kayaking, raft building and climbing – all of which are available at Burrs Activity Centre (pre-booking required). Burrs is also home to some of the most impressive works on the Irwell Sculpture Trail which runs from Salford to the West Pennine Moors – offering a long walk for those looking for something a little more challenging.

I like going on pleasant walks and prefer a walk that has direction and a path to follow. Preferably with an approximate distance and duration. Not too keen on simply wandering aimlessly about. So if there is anything like that out there I would be grateful to know
