Announcing 'Manchester With Love' compilation album: an outpouring of love from the Manchester music community  celebrating our diversity and unity.

Manchester With Love is a digitally-released compilation acting as an outpouring of love from Manchester’s world-famous music scene. Its aim is to raise funds for the victims of the attack and for the wider Manchester community who have been affected by the events of 22 May.

The world has heard how people of the city came together with their heart and spirit overflowing in the days following the unthinkable. The people of the city continue to stand together and rebuild in the face of devastation, and this collection is the Manchester music community’s response to events.

Funds raised by this compilation will go directly to We Love Manchester emergency fund, run by the British Red Cross in tandem with Manchester City Council.

As well as raising money for this fund, the secondary aim of Manchester With Love is to demonstrate, celebrate and share the diversity and unity which continues to permeate from the city’s streets via its music. In our opinion, there’s no better metaphor and Hammo’s unique artwork sums this up perfectly.

Within 24 hours of the first text suggesting the idea of the compilation, over 100 artists, producers and bands had already offered to donate a track. Some of these will be from previous releases, some will be donating unheard tracks and some are even creating new music in response to what happened.

The compilation pairs internationally known artists with local heroes and underground wonders. All are from Manchester. Artists will be announced over the next week.

Manchester With Love will be sold digitally through Bandcamp.com and Boomkat.com. Bandcamp, as standard for charity releases, will reduce the percentage they take from sales. Boomkat will take nothing, meaning that 100% of sales will go to the fund. The album will be for sale as whole, meaning individual tracks will not be available to purchase separately.
