This July, Philips Park has some special visitors! After the much-anticipated arrival of Jurassic Kingdom, with surprise appearances from ‘Rex’ the Tyrannosaurus Rex around Manchester, it is safe to say the giant prehistoric creatures have more than exceeded the expectations of many excited visitors!

As you enter the park on Stuart Street, an impressive Jurassic Kingdom themed archway will greet you (you can’t miss it!), before turning the corner to be met by the scarily life-like dinosaurs of Jurassic Kingdom, emerging from the parklands and greenery.

Whilst you make your way round the quaint pathways of Philips Park, look out for over 30 dinosaur installations and life-size replicas of all your favourite dinosaur species, some with impressive animatronic features making for an enormously lifelike outdoor experience.

Don’t miss the education marquee, where there is a short educational documentary produced by the BBC, to find out facts about these fantastic animals from a 30 minute viewing experience, which is truly interesting for both children and adults alike. For even more educational opportunities, there is a real-life excavation scene, and information panels along the Jurassic trail, with information supplied and reviewed by an Honorary Visiting Scientist at the University of Manchester, Dean R. Lomax, providing the perfect learning opportunity for families and schools!

Exploring Jurassic Kingdom sure works up an appetite, but fear not, as there is a super selection of food and beverage vendors to keep you fed and watered, or alternatively bring your own picnic to enjoy amongst the ginormous beasts.

Be sure to make the most of your visit to Jurassic Kingdom, and take as long as you like to walk among the dinosaurs, which provide some unique photo opportunities! There is also the opportunity to explore other activities at Jurassic Kingdom, including a unique virtual reality experience, providing a great day out for all the family, with something for everyone.

When you come to the end of the Jurassic Kingdom trail, be sure to check out the great mementos of Jurassic proportion on offer to take home with you to remember your roar-some day out.
