Outstanding new casual dining restaurant, TOAST, opens in Altrincham, promising a laid back atmosphere, in the very best surroundings.

A place where (almost) everything is served on toast, from all day breakfast dishes and light bites, to lunch mains and desserts; TOAST takes the ground floor of a beautifully renovated old bank building, on Stamford New Road, at the edge of Goose Green, in Altrincham.

TOAST Altrincham is the brainchild of owner Justin Orange, and inspiration for the new concept eating experience came from his travels to New York. The unique menu has been conceptualised by Head Chef Edward Carr (Aumbry, The Fat Duck and Eleven Madison Park in NYC).

Justin Orange comments; “Who doesn’t love TOAST? It’s been eighteen months in the making, but it’s been well worth the wait. It’s a beautiful building. We’ve planned everything in detail, so all you have to do is turn up, relax and enjoy.”

Bread freshly baked by Levenshulme-based family bakery, Trove (five different varieties, plus a gluten-free option), complement dishes that are made with ingredients from other local producers, priced from £5 to £9.50.

TOAST’s dishes include: Eggs Benedict, Royale, Florentine, and eggs your way; white crab, with lime juice, rocket and coriander; prawns rolled in sesame seeds, with sweet chilli jam; truffled cheese on toast, with baked egg and truffle oil; egg and chorizo, with chorizo spread and paprika jam; baked vanilla peaches, with Chantilly cream and mascarpone; and marinated strawberries with whipped rosewater ricotta.

There’s also a Young Toasties menu, priced from £3, where every dish comes with a 25 pence donation to local charity, The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust.

Drinks on offer include: smoothies, made with adventurous ingredients like Maca, dandelion shoots, and sunflower shoots, to carefully selected wines (£17.95 per bottle), Prosecco (£19.95), and craft beers and cider (£4.50).

Coffee is supplied by local roaster Heart and Graft, and from Sale Sharks rugby player, David Seymour, who has provided a special roast from his new coffee company, Couch Grind Coffee.

The 56-cover restaurant has two distinct areas.

The Garden Room entrance acts as a feature, with numerous glass partitions, to let the light in, and lovely flora, vibrant, characterful lighting, and fabrics to enhance the atmosphere. The Garden Room, and the main area of Toast, with its exposed original architectural details, copper accents, were conceptualized by Justin and realized by Sarah De Freitas (De Freitas Design).

The inspiration for these defined areas came about through a combination of Sarah and Justin’s desire to cater for all tastes, and create the perfect laid–back, hangout space for everyone. TOAST also benefits from an al-fresco heated canopied section that can seat up to 16.

Opening hours will be: 8pm – 6pm, Monday – Saturday.  For more information & reservations visit www.toastaltrincham.com
