• Catch the Altrincham tram to Sale and head to Sale Waterside Arts Centre. There you can take your pick from theatre, exhibitions or join in the family-friendly activities (booking required for some activities).
• Take the tram to Chorlton and wander down to the Village. Stop for lunch at the Horse & Jockey on the Village Green and visit the independent shops on Beech Road then take a walk around Chorlton Ees Nature Reserve.
• Hop on the tram to East Didsbury and head to Parrs Wood Entertainment Centre. Go bowling or take in a film.
• For the final treat of the day, you could get the tram back into Manchester, changing at St Peter’s Square for Piccadilly Gardens, and have a bite to eat at a nearby restaurant before heading home.
