Central Station view from the Midland, 1964

The venue's vaulted arches and station clock have made Manchester Central an iconic city feature for more than 130 years and for one day only, they are inviting visitors to come inside and take a look around.

There will be a chance to learn about the history of the venue whilst exploring the spaces; from the vast Central Hall to the state-of-the-art auditorium and everything in between. Most importantly, there’ll also be an opportunity to try one of their delicious brownies!

Becoming Manchester Central

Hosting a huge range of events from exhibitions for food, film and travel fans to medical conferences and gala dinners, there are very few days of the year when the venue isn’t bustling with delegates or exhibitors. It has even been transformed into television sets for a number of shows including Cold Feet, the 18/19 Premier League Launch, X Factor and Ninja Warrior.

So, if you fancy a quick nosey around and a free coffee and brownie, then feel free to pop down anytime between 10am and 4pm on Wednesday 14th August and one of the friendly team will happily show you around.

Manchester Central also running two tours for local photographers on the day, inviting them to explore the venue and capture beautiful shots from new and exciting angles. There are spaces remaining on these and the links to sign up are on the photography tour page of the website.
