There are plenty of fantastic concerts to enjoy in the Hallé Orchestra’s 2022-23 Season at The Bridgewater Hall this Autumn and Winter.

Highlights include E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial in Concert on Saturday 22 October in which the Hallé relives the magic of E.T. with a film screening accompanied by a magnificent performance by the orchestra. Filled with unparalleled magic and imagination, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial follows the moving story of a lost little alien who befriends a 10-year-old boy named Elliott. Experience all the mystery and fun of their unforgettable adventure in the beloved movie that captivated audiences around the world, complete with John Williams’ Academy Award®-winning score performed live by the Hallé in sync to the film projected on a huge HD screen!

On Thursday 27 October, Sir Mark Elder conducts Verdi’s Requiem, a choral masterpiece featuring the superb Hallé Choir and a stellar cast of soloists.  With the spine-chilling ‘Dies Irae’, thrilling ‘Sanctus’ and beautiful ‘Lacrimosa’ this is a technically demanding and dramatic work which promises to be an evening to remember.

The Hallé embraces the colder weather on Saturday 27 November with Winter Classics. Conducted by Hallé favourite, Stephen Bell, the concert offers sleigh bells in Delius’s Sleigh Ride, snowflakes in Offenbach’s Ballet of the Snowflakes alongside The Nutcracker and Vivaldi’s dramatic Winter from The Four Seasons.

The Hallé’s Christmas Season features a magical selection of concerts for all tastes and ages, with the annual performance of Messiah setting the tone for the festivities. The Hallé’s Christmas Family Concert brings adventure for all the family, or young and old alike can enjoy a screening of The Snowman accompanied by live orchestra. A concert of Swinging Christmas hits features jazz vocalist Clare Teal and the Hallé’s traditional Carol Concerts is a treat for all ages with carols for choir and audience. In between Christmas and New Year, enjoy a tribute to the music of Motown, The Music of Star Wars and celebrate the start of 2023 with a heart-warming concert of Viennese waltzes, songs and polkas.
