1. Rediscover Iconic Anthems with the Northern String Quartet at Manchester Art Gallery 

On Friday 16 June, immerse yourself in the iconic Manchester music scene with the Northern String Quartet's unique rendition of classic anthems at Manchester Art Gallery. This enchanting event blends the soulful melodies of Joy Division and the infectious beats of The Stone Roses with the elegance of classical music. The quartet creates a harmonious fusion of Manchester’s past and present. Limited tickets are available for this exclusive performance starting from £25.  

2. Explore art and activism at the People’s History Museum 

The Nothing About Us Without Us exhibition, hosted at the People’s History Museum, offers a unique and thought-provoking delve into the heart of an extraordinary collection of art and activism. On Thursday 15 June, guided tours are available, allowing guests to explore the diverse works created by artists who challenge societal norms and advocate for inclusion and representation. 3. Have a pawsome day out with some four-legged friends at Tatton Park 

Experience the ultimate dog-friendly celebration at Tatton Park's DogFest on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 June. Enjoy a weekend filled with exciting activities, a Fun Dog Show, a Big Dog Walk, incredible dog displays, expert advice, and plenty of adorable four-legged friends. 4. Hulme’s community series of festivals returns this week 

Green Island Festival is back in Manchester for its third year, featuring a series of three-day festivals showcasing underground and emerging artists. With a focus on community and authenticity, the festival highlights local musicians, independent chefs, and unique experiences. Hulme Community Garden Centre will be transformed on Saturday 17 June into an arts mecca with three stages. BBC Introducing and Ruf Dug's renowned showcase are among some of the highlights.  

5. Mayfield Depot’s award-winning cabaret extends its run into the summer 

The award-winning cabaret show, La Clique, extends its summer run in Manchester until 29 July. The show takes place in a magical 1920s Spiegel tent on the roof of Depot Mayfield. After successful runs at the Edinburgh Fringe and London’s Leicester Square, the Manchester cast includes incredible acts like tension strap artist LJ Marles and singer Chastity Belt. Tickets start from £19.50.

From Sunday 23 July join Lloyd of the Flies at RHS Garden Bridgewater. Guests can embark on an adventure with Lloyd and his insect friends in the luxury bug hotel. Explore the garden, seek out characters, and learn fascinating minibeast facts. Experience the world through insect eyes with an augmented reality app developed by Aardman. The free app allows you to shrink to fly size and interact with Lloyd and his pals amidst the flowers. 

New Opening: Lucky Cat by Gordon Ramsay 

Set within the walls of the old Midland bank on King Street, Lucky Cat by Gordon Ramsay is inspired by Tokyo's 1930s kissas and Shanghai's drinking dens. Expect Asian inspired small plates, Robata grilled dishes, sushi and sashimi crafted in an open kitchen as well as a signature raw carve bar.
