Carnforth Station Heritage Centre
Carnforth Station Heritage Centre, including the Brief Encounter Refreshment Room, have been restored to their 1940s glory, when the refreshment room was used as the setting for David Lean’s classic romance Brief Encounter. Take a picture under the famous station clock, re-watch the film in the mini-cinema and learn about the production of the film at the David Lean Exhibition.

Grab a bite to eat in the Refreshment Room, where one of Britain’s most iconic romances began when Dr Alec Harvey first met Laura Jesson. You may even be able to sit in the Station Master’s Office, where Celia Johnson rested in between takes during filming.

Guided Tour of Leighton Hall
The Lady of the Manor, Suzie Reynolds, greets visitors to the family home before embarking on a guided tour of the elegant hall. Afterwards, stroll in the grounds, where you might catch a falconry display, or enjoy afternoon tea in the original Victorian kitchen quarters.
Return Transfer to Carnforth and Train to Manchester Piccadilly
Meet your pre-booked return transfer to Carnforth Station where you will catch your return train to Manchester.
All daytrips by train are self-guided/ unescorted. Our representative will meet you at The Mill at Manchester Piccadilly station and provide you with all the information you need, including an itinerary, to use as a guide.
