Experience a more relaxed Christmas this year inside one of Manchester’s original market buildings. There's something for everyone with events, workshops, live music, crafts for kids and the chance to buy perfect presents direct from over 30 independent designers and makers.

The Christmas season at MCDC kicks off on November 11th with their annual family-friendly launch event. Start ticking those gifts of your Christmas list whilst enjoying live music, complimentary mulled wine and mince pies. Your mini makers are invited to get creative and make a hanging candy cane decoration or origami Santa.

November 23rd sees the launch of a new exhibition – The Art of the Fold – an impressive folded paper lighting installation by Glaswegian designer/maker Kate Colin. The Centre will be open until 8pm for late night shopping, festive G&T's and live music from resident DJ Ailsa McLaggan of Living Room Dance Club. There's also a special tour of the exhibition on November 28th and the show is open until February 2018.

For the more hands-on amongst you, a varied workshop programme gives you the chance to try out beading, calligraphy and metalworking – the perfect opportunity to make a handmade gift of your own for someone special.

On-site eatery Oak Street Café Bar will be serving up a special festive menu throughout the Christmas period that includes a selection of toasties and pies alongside boozy hot drinks including mulled cider and Cointreau hot chocolate – the perfect winter warmer.
