Plant Noma - Natural Dyeing Workshop

Join artist Katrina Wilde in exploring Plant NOMA's garden through colour and natural dyeing. Together, we'll spend the afternoon in the garden and working outside (weather permitting), collecting plants and flowers growing in the space and work with them to create botanically-dyed and printed textiles. You'll learn about different dye plants as well as a range of dyeing and printing techniques and how to extend your colour palette too. Each person will take away a cotton or silk square scarf, as well as a small textile swatch book and technical notes.

Katrina Wilde is an artist working with plants, people and materials. Her practice focuses on local ecologies, material research, community engagement and re-enchantment, exploring how these things can be connected through the language of colour. Katrina shares a slow textile project, Wilde Studio, with her sister Nadine; their studio is based in Stoke-on-Trent.

This workshop is open to all ages but will be a bit tricky for very young children.
All children must be accompanied by an adult at all time.
All tools and eqipment provided.
