This summer Stalybridge in its role as Town of Culture will play host to a summer brimming with free family fun sharing its cultural roots with everyone.

From wild art sessions in the park, to animation workshops and children's theatre, there is something for everyone and lots to keep youngsters entertained in the summer holidays.

In August, nature lovers can also get involved in "Snailybridge – Snail-o-vision" animation workshop where children will be able to storyboard a tale featuring snails and or get hunting on the "Splendid Snail Hunt" featuring painted shells hidden in the nooks and crannies around the town, and make their own snails.

Glorious Gorse Hall, will bring a wellbeing heritage and nature audio trail offering families a guided walk around the park, taking in the landscape and buildings. As well as a chance to take in picturesque Tameside and the scenery all the way to Hartshead Pike through Viewpoint. The giant steel and willow picture frame was commissioned using Greater Manchester Arts funding, designed and made by Manchester Artist Cherry Chung makes the most of the

Stalybridge's spectacular Street Fest of course is not to be missed the town's popular monthly street food and drink event held each month in Armentieres Square, brings a feast of good music and good food for all the family.

There is an array of other events and activities for visitors to get involved in - including a Halle Orchestra concert in Stalybridge Civic Hall, a Swedish photography art exhibition Theatre in the parks shows, and creative art and nature workshops.
Mossley based festival arts organisation Global Grooves will recreate their section of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Pageant held in London in a procession at Stalybridge Canal Festival in September.
