Make, create and play this summer at the Science and Industry Museum.
Put your tinkering skills to the test with Textile City and enjoy hands-on activities in the historic 1830 Warehouse. Find out more about the textiles industry and how it has shaped our world. Get creative with fabric printing or try designing your own materials. Experiment with moving machines or build your own vehicle for transporting textiles.
Be inspired by the city and get involved in a brand-new immersive art project designed by artist Jenny Steele. Redesign Manchester's cityscape using foam blocks covered in textiles print inspired by Manchester's unique architecture, or try your hand at fabric weaving and contribute to a piece of collaborative art.
Join our Object Handling Volunteers on Tuesdays and Saturdays and discover more about items from our collection.
Make your way to the 1830 Warehouse through the Lower Yard, where you can discover more about our historic site with a new trail and more beautiful planting stories. Watch out for tigers as you spin, splash and whirl your way down the tracks.
Plus, play the best video games and consoles from the past five decades in Power UP, the ultimate hands-on gaming experience and see science brought to life in Experiment, our family friendly interactive gallery.
