The Old Bank Residency at NOMA – known for encouraging groups to “congregate around ideas, projects and workshops” – has launched an exciting roster of events, activities and interventions in a new digitally focused format to ensure everyone can stay connected and feeling part of the Manchester community during this period of social distancing.
Simply visit www.oldbanknoma.com to discover a plethora of digitally accessible activities, ranging from ceramics demonstrations from local artist Joe Hartley to being able to join a running club for the socially isolated. In line with the project’s aims to be as inclusive as possible, everything is free to access, with the chats and streaming via Zoom or the Old Bank Residency forum.

WORKSHOPS FROM HOME
Live streams, workshops and demonstrations from Old Bank Residency regulars Joe Hartley and Standard Pottery. Expect to find new uses for your household items and take part in hands-on activities to let your mind wander.
LIVING ROOM DANCE CLUB
DJ sets and themed mixes from the Old Bank Residency’s appropriately named house DJ, Living Room Dance Club – whether you need music to concentrate to or a soundtrack for your next kitchen dancing session, this is where to find it!
WITH LOVE BUSINESS BRUNCH
A weekly ‘round-table’ format for small businesses, highlighting and discussing the various many entrepreneurs and company heads are currently facing. Pour yourself a coffee and join in.
LOST RUNNING CLUB
A running club for the socially isolated, setting you weekly challenges to give you an excuse to get outside - and away from other people. Track yourself via Strava and share!
DISTANCED DHAL
The Old Bank Residency’s weekly communal lunch continues, leading you through recipes to create a delicious signature dhal at home and encouraging a weekly Friday lunchtime digital meet-up via Zoom.
PATCH NOMA
A continuation of the neighbourhood kitchen garden at NOMA, Manchester Urban Diggers will be streaming a workshop every week to help you to grow food at home!
EVERYBODY DRAW
Artist Neil Greenhalgh will take you through a guided drawing session each week, exploring different techniques and styles – and doodling is more than encouraged.
