If you’re looking for a way to get around Manchester whilst keeping fit, why not hire a bicycle for your time in the city. Manchester is bike-friendly with many marked cycle lanes and dedicated routes throughout the city centre and beyond.
Bee Network Cycle Hire
Transport for Greater Manchester, working in partnership with Manchester City Council, Salford City Council and Trafford Council, launched Greater Manchester's first publicly operated, self-service, 24/7 cycle hire scheme in November 2021.
Cycle hire stations, which will be placed across parts of Manchester, Salford and Trafford will typically be between 300-500m apart, ensuring that people are never more than a five-minute walk from a bicycle.
The scheme, which will roll out in stages, will see 1,500 bikes - including e-bikes, available to the public by summer 2022, giving hundreds of thousands of residents, workers, and visitors an affordable, convenient and quick way to get around.
More information can be found at the Bee Network website.
