Inspired by a love for music, food, drinks and Mexican culture with the maxim ‘nuestra casa es tu casa’ – their home is your home.
Music is their passion and Joe Strummer is at their heart. The Clash inspired them to name the bar after their 4th album ‘Sandinista’. They play an eclectic mix that covers rock, indie, funk, soul, reggae, 80s and more.
Sandinista's revolutionary theme is influenced by the political movement in Nicaragua - The Sandinista National Liberation Front. They liberated Nicaragua with an oppressive right-wing regime in 1979 to 1990. The Central American influence is carried throughout the Mexican inspired food and drink menu as well as the décor.
The menu focuses on Spanish Tapas and Mexican specialties including Taco’s, Fajitas, Chilli and Nachos. Prepared using only the freshest ingredients, the dishes embody Sandinista!’s Mexican inspired food ethos: simple great tasting cuisine that reflects the culture it was born out of.
Sandinista's impressively stocked bar offers an impressive range of cocktails from the four corners of the globe. The top sellers are fruity, tangy twists on Mojitos, Daiquiris, Mai Tais, Margaritas and Juleps. The back bar boasts an array of quality tequilas, rums and spirits with a fine selection of beers.
Sandinista’s Basement bar, (The Dark Lords Den) offers a space suitable for any occasion, from corporate functions to intimate gigs and parties.
