Saturday:
• Take the tram out to Bury Art Museum and Sculpture Centre and try your hand at one of the art workshops.
• While there, visit the Fusilier Museum. Explore 300 years of history from Napoleon right up to present day.
• Head back to Victoria to visit the hidden gem Chetham’s Library. Opened in 1653, it’s the oldest public library in the English-speaking world.
• Wander up through the bohemian Northern Quarter for a browse around the Craft and Design Centre. Look out for street art on your way.
• Take the tram from Market Street or Piccadilly Gardens down to Deansgate-Castlefield and head to HOME for a bite to eat and a film.
Sunday:
• Take the tram to Ashton-under-Lyne and wander down to Portland Basin Museum. Discover the area's industrial heritage, local crafts and explore a replica 1920s Tameside street.
• On your way back to town, stop off at Clayton Hall. Once home to the Byron family, this 15th-century manor house is now a living museum.
• Back in town, hop off the tram at St Peter’s Square and head to Manchester Art Gallery
• Walk to Chaophraya and enjoy a delicious Thai meal with 20% off your bill when you show your Metrolink ticket.
• End your night with a trip to the Royal Exchange Theatre to catch a show (pre-booking required).
