Hallé Family Christmas Concert
Sunday 4th December, 11 am
Oh no, Father Christmas has lost his map on a practice run of his delivery route! Thankfully the Hallé has found it but they need your help to return it to him ahead of the big day! We’ll be singing, dancing and best of all, a full symphony orchestra will bring our adventure to life. Will you help the Hallé to save Christmas?
Messiah
Saturday 10 December, 6 pm
An essential part of every Christmas, the Hallé’s performance of Handel’s Messiah features a starry lineup of world-class soloists. A sure-fire way to get you into the Christmas spirit.
Swinging Christmas with the Hallé

The Hallé and conductor Stephen Bell welcome back jazz legend Clare Teal, habitual winner of British Jazz Singer of the Year, for a swinging celebration full of Christmas classics including Jingle Bells; It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year; Winter Wonderland; Let It Snow; Snowbound; The Christmas Song; Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas; All I Want for Christmas Is You; What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve?; The Man With the Bag; White Christmas; Cool Yule; Santa Baby and Merry Christmas Baby.
Hallé Carol Concerts

Stephen Bell conducts and presents the Hallé’s annual traditional celebration of Christmas – a treat for all ages. There will be carols for the choir and audience, as well as a stockingful of the most beautiful and magical music performed by the Hallé in a seasonal mood. Carols include Once in Royal David’s City; Silent Night; Hark! The Herald Angels Sing; O Holy Night; The Holly and the Ivy; I Saw Three Ships; Joy to the World; Carol of the Bells; Fairytale Sleighride; O Come, All Ye Faithful and the Hallé Children’s Choir singing There Is a Santa Claus from Elf.
The Snowman

Bring the whole family to the Hallé’s screening of Raymond Briggs’s classic animated film, The Snowman – an essential part of Christmas. The film is accompanied by the Hallé performing Howard Blake’s magical score live. In the first half of the concert, ‘Stomp! Stomp! Stomp!’ with Tom Redmond and the Hallé in Dinosaurumpus, an animated, interactive orchestral adventure, and enjoy Lorna Gibson’s heart-warming Mr Bear’s Christmas.

Prepare yourself for a magnificent evening of nostalgic dance floor classics by artists including Diana Ross and The Supremes, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye and The Four Tops, performed by two exceptional singers and the entire Hallé Orchestra! The Music of Star Wars

Feel the full force of the Hallé as we bring you John Williams’s iconic music from Star Wars to the stage of The Bridgewater Hall. Filled with some of the most recognisable cinematic themes, this concert packs more punch than an Imperial blaster. Viennese New Year
Saturday 7th January 2023, 3 pm
New Year would not be New Year without the Hallé’s traditional concert of Viennese waltzes, polkas, marches and operettas. This year’s glittering selection will be performed under the baton of conductor Stephen Bell with guest soprano Rebecca Bottone.
