Ignite Fire Festival & Light Switch On Weekend

• Friday 21^st – Sunday 23^rd November 2025

The Ignite Fire Festival returns to Rochdale this weekend, transforming the square and gardens opposite Rochdale Town Hall with illuminated trails on Broadfield Slopes, dazzling displays, an ice rink, and artisan markets brough to you by D&D. Enjoy dazzling fire demonstrations, a sparkling parade, energetic live music, and an awe-inspiring light display that signals the start of the Christmas magic. The Christmas lights switch-on, featuring Father Christmas, takes place at 5:30pm, Sunday 23 November, in front of the town hall, followed by entertainment and activities for families. No booking required.

Skate into the Season at Rochdale Ice Rink

Welcome to Santa’s Village Ice Rink, the perfect place for festive family fun and unforgettable moments on the ice this festive season. Whether you’re lacing up skates for the very first time or simply enjoying a leisurely glide with friends, the rink is designed for all ages and skill levels to enjoy. Meet Santa at Santa’s Village & Grotto

• Saturday 29^th November – Tuesday 23^rd December 2025. 

Visiting Santa is such a special time to share with both friends & family. The Santa's Grotto that has been created in Rochdale Riverside is extremely authentic, rustic and even smells festive when you step inside. Santa will be waiting to greet you and your family into his cosy front room as you step into a small piece of the 'Santa's Village'. He will have his head Elf beside him to make the experience even more magical. Take as many photo's as you like and don't forget to collect your gift from the main man himself. The grotto is open on selected days, with specific dates and times available.

Rochdale Christmas Markets

• Sunday 14^th December 2025

Experience festive cheer at the Christmas artisan market, perfect for families and friends. Enjoy delicious street food, hot drinks, live music, unique artisan stalls, and free children’s arts and crafts. Kids will love the Elf on the Shelf visit. No booking required.
