Nothing beats a full Sunday roast dinner, especially now the weather is dropping. As a key element of British culture, it’s important to know where to head towards to get that pub grub fix. Here are some of the regions favourite spots:
1. Hawksmoor, Deansgate
Hawksmoor has updated its slow roast rump with all the trimmings by adding an array of new side dishes, and premium feasting options for groups of two or more.
Rewriting the rule book on what trimmings to have with roast beef, Hawksmoor stuffing is a decadent mix of bone marrow, onions, high grade beef sausage and lots of fresh herbs. Joining it are the cauliflower cheese, roasted bone marrow & onions, slow cooked with beef stock, garlic and thyme. Further new additions included the ultimate in comfort food are the rich and meaty Celeriac mash, sausage & gravy made with slow-cooked celeriac and high-grade pork.
Served every Sunday at Hawksmoor, it’s a must try!
2. Maray Manchester, Albert Square
The Sunday roast is as iconic as they come, comforting, symbolic and utterly delicious. Maray’s critically acclaimed roast menu is no different – with a juicy roast beef picanha, chicken roasted in rich earthy za’atar with hints of saffron and lemon and a nut roast inspired by the spiced aromatics of their staple falafel. Maray’s menu is a unique take on the traditional roast.
We recommend their famous Medjool date bread and butter pudding, which is served with warm caramel sauce and ice cream.
