Halloween has only just gone, but the festive season is ready to take over Manchester! Starting from 10 November, the Manchester Christmas Markets are back for their 25th year, bringing the oh-so-joyful Christmas spirit to the city. Though you may have already spotted a cheeky few stalls open, from Friday you can find over 225 stalls across the nine hubs, including Winter Gardens which will be back at Piccadilly Gardens this year where you’ll find the iconic Manchester Christmas Windmill!
Explore some iconic film and TV scenes with a specialised walking tour
Do you want to walk in Captain America’s shoes for a few hours? Discover where The Garrison Tavern set once stood? Join The Locationist this Thursday 9 or Sunday 12 November, and learn all about Manchester as the set for countless productions, including The Crown, Morbius, and of course, Peaky Blinders. The tour lasts 2.5 hours and your guide will be pointing out many places of interest along the way, including bars and restaurants. Tickets start from £15.
Brace yourself for a true horror experience
If you’re not quite ready to move on from the spookiest time of the season, the Metro Majestic Cinema in Ashton-Under-Lyne is where you want to be. This weekend, 11 and 12 November, step into the Theatre of Screams and discover a petrifying world of darkness and nightmares. NOT for the faint of heart, this horror themed event will feature terrifying live actors and eerie sets that will spike your adrenaline. Minimum age is 15, with tickets starting from £16.75
Celebrate the opening of Aviva Studios at a series of free events
The incredible opening show at Factory International might have closed last week, but the launch celebrations are only just starting. Between 11 and 19 November, head over to Aviva Studios for The Welcome and enjoy an incredible line-up of live performances and art installations that will take over the venue. These will include an exhibition of portraits of some exceptional Mancunians and Community Takeover sessions. Most of the events are free to attend, so make sure you pop by!
Join The Hallé for a traffic free hour of musical bliss
This Thursday, 9 November, experience an evening of world-class classical music at The Bridgewater Hall. Renowned American Conductor Roderick Cox will lead Hallé rush hour concerts - Visit Manchester with a performance of Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No.3 by Benjamin Grosvenor and Debussy’s La Mer. Avoid the crowded trains and packed roads and savour an hour of enchanting performances.

Quayside MediaCity has just welcomed its latest slow-fashion store. Charity Super.Mkt is the UK’s first multi-charity fashion store, with a variety of pre-loved styles on offer to bring style and sustainability under one roof. The store will be open until Wednesday 13 December with a line-up of DJs ready to liven up the weekends.
