Enjoy an evening of poetry at Manchester Central Library
As part of the Manchester Literature Festival, Manchester Central Library will host three renowned poets on Friday, 13 October. Terrance Hayes, Anthony Anaxagorou & Selina Nwulu will be performing some of their latest works So to Speak, Heritage Aesthetics and Nwulu’s debut collection A Little Resurrection. Catch a Broadway show with your evening meal
St Aidan’s Church in Rochdale becomes the stage for some incredible Broadway performances. On Saturday, 14 October, A Broadway Cabaret will see a line-up of extraordinary singers take on many of the best-loved songs from your favourite Broadway shows. Watch the revival of a comedy classic at Stockport Plazza
This Monday 9 October, The Plaza in Stockport welcomes a radio comedy classic to the stage. Hancocks Half Hour: The Lost Episodes, directed by Tim Astley, brings back episodes of the beloved 1954 show, so don’t miss the opportunity to watch the hilarious adventures of Tony Hancock and friends live on stage. Celebrate Oktoberfest without leaving Manchester
The Bavarian festival is back between 13 and 14 October to celebrate its 10th anniversary in the city. Manchester Oktoberfest will be held at Platt Fields Park this year, with traditional food and drink being served at one of the biggest Oktoberfest in the UK. Manchester Arndale debuts thought-provoking spoken-stories exhibition
A new spoken-stories exhibition is arriving at Manchester Arndale this Tuesday 10 October. Exploring homelessness and highlighting the importance of community support, Random Objects of Kindness was created in partnership with Heard Storytelling and Real Change MCR. The exhibition’s launch coincides with World Mental Health Day and World Homelessness Day.
