‘Catch ‘Em All’ at The Trafford Centre
A unique, treasure hunt-style event will take place at The Trafford Centre from Monday 17 October to Sunday 13 November, where visitors can discover hidden art of the 151 Pokémon originally discovered in the Kanto region. The Pokémon art will showcase a wide variety of artistic techniques and styles from across the ages, including cave paintings, stained glass and oil paintings for families and fans of all ages to enjoy free of charge.
Glide around Cathedral Gardens with Skate Manchester
Skate Manchester is back this year from Friday 21 October, welcoming skaters onto the ice for another season at Cathedral Gardens. Kicking off the Winter season is Scare Skate, a Halloween-themed skate path that will lead you around one of the city’s iconic monsters forming part of the annual Halloween in the City event. Tickets start from £12.50.
Unlock the mysteries of Music at Manchester Science Festival
Manchester Science Festival returns on Friday 21 October, for a week-long series of events celebrating science and innovation through world-premiere events and experiences. Tickets are now available for its headline exhibition, Turn It Up: The power of music which will explore the science of music’s mysterious hold over us and how it drives us to create, perform, feel, and share.
Journey through the night sky at Jodrell Bank
Sit back and relax this week as a team of experienced presenters and astronomers guide you through the universe with one of Jodrell Bank’s iconic Dome Shows. The UNESCO World Heritage site offers visitors the opportunity to learn all about astronomy and explore the history of the iconic Cheshire Observatory. Tickets start from £12, with dome shows starting from an additional £4.
Explore The Art of Banksy in one of the world’s largest exhibitions
Following a successful global tour, The Art of Banksy, opens this week on Friday 21 October to display 145 iconic and original pieces from the works of street artist Banksy. Working with leading Manchester arts centre HOME, the exhibition will be hosted in a purpose-built 1,200 sq meter structure featuring rarely seen works on loan from private collectors. Tickets start from £21.50 with the exhibition running until Sunday 8 January 2023.
New opening of the week: Green Arches
A pair of former Beatnikz brewers have opened the doors this week to a new utopia for keen beer enthusiasts. Green Arches promises a friendly and inclusive space offering a wide range of home-brewed beers, wines, spirits and non-alcoholic beverages. Opening alongside neighbours GRUB and The Sparrows, the Red Bank area is quickly becoming a must-visit for those wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of the city centre.
