1. Discover otherworldly fire sculptures at Mayfield Park
An incredible fireworks display is coming to Manchester this weekend. On Saturday and Sunday, 4 and 5 November, Freight Island is bringing a Fireworks & Fire Garden Night to Mayfield Park in collaboration with Walk The Plank. Walk through a fantastical fire garden featuring intricate carved sculptures and watch a mesmerising fireworks display during one of the four sessions available. Tickets start at £12.
2. Grab your popcorn for a spooky evening at King Street Townhouse
An iconic hotel in the city centre is celebrating Halloween with some frightening film screenings. This Monday and Tuesday, 30 and 31 October, sit down for some Halloween Movies at King Street Townhouse in the cellar of the historic building. Showing seasonal favourites The Shining, Halloween and It (2017), you will also get to enjoy cocktails and snacks in the 20-seat Screening Room. Tickets start from £15.
3. Step inside a children’s storybook at Bury Transport Museum
Bring the family down to Bury to meet a beloved children’s book character. This weekend, 4 and 5 November, Gruffalo Family Fun Day will be on at the Bury Transport Museum with plenty of activities for children to enjoy throughout the visit, including face painting, funfair rides and even a chance to meet the Gruffalo itself! Tickets start from £16 and include a ride in one of East Lancashire Railway’s heritage trains.
4. Find poisonous plants at Castlefield Viaduct
Climb up to the sky garden of Castlefield Viaduct this Tuesday, 31 October and learn about the plants that line the path. Poisons, Potions and Plants is a free tour that explores the myths surrounding the flora with a knowledgeable guide. The tour will last half an hour from 2pm, so make sure you grab your spot!
5. Celebrate Bonfire night with a striking fireworks display
For the 11th year running, the largest bonfire in Oldham comes back on Thursday, 2 November. Taking place in Oldham Edge Playing Fields, the Big Bang Bonfire 2023 is open to everyone and free to attend! Starting at 5PM, it will be the biggest bonfire ever and will feature a performance of the ‘Battle of the Oldham Edge’, a fire dance performance by Juggling Inferno and a colourful fireworks display to close out the evening.

Tickets for one of the most spectacular light trails in Greater Manchester are now on sale! Glow is coming back to RHS Garden Bridgewater from 15 November to 30 December, with some breathtaking light displays, including an enchanting light trail, a halo light show from Jago Juggling Arts, and a Garden Cottage disco.
