Celebrate the Women’s Euros in Piccadilly Gardens 

Celebrate UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 with a Fan Party at Piccadilly Gardens. From 6 July – 31 August, the Fan Party will welcome fans and friends of all ages, from home and abroad, to be a part of the biggest ever European women’s sporting event. The Manchester Fan Party offers a packed programme of activity, including football activities, face painting, matchday screenings on giant screens and an array of food and drink.  

Celebrate the best in Northern Fashion 

Milan meets Manchester in an industry-first pioneering event. Northern Fashion Week will take place between 4-9 July, with the main event at Manchester Central during 7-9 July. Engaging cities across the North for breakout events earlier in the week, Northern Fashion Week aims to champion northern talent and develop northern industry - delivering opportunities, creating change and driving the northern fashion scene. An immersive event for art, culture and fashion sectors to collide, this fashion week will bring together a range of businesses within the creative space. 

Unwind with the Wigan International Jazz Festival 

Formed in 1986 in response to the region’s growing audience for jazz and big band music, the Wigan International Jazz Festival is now one of the UK’s longest-running jazz festivals. From 7 July, you can experience many of the world’s finest jazz artists such as TRYPL, The Louis Dowdeswell Big Band and the SK2 Jazz Orchestra.  

Enjoy a special edition Candlelight performance at Victoria Baths 

On Saturday 9 July, book your tickets to discover the music of Vivaldi and Mozart Requiem at the unique Grade II listed, Victoria Baths. Candlelight concerts bring the magic of a live, multi-sensory musical experience to awe-inspiring locations never before used for this purpose in Manchester.  

Experience the best Arab cinema has to offer 

The SAFAR Film Festival is the only festival in the UK dedicated to cinema from the Arab world and for the first time the festival comes to Manchester. From 10 – 16 July, SAFAR screens in cities across the UK and we’re pleased to welcome the festival to HOME. Curated by Rabih El-Khoury, this year’s theme, The Stories We Tell in Arab Cinema, invites you to go back to the very essence of filmmaking: storytelling. 

New opening of the week: Sonata, St. Ann’s Square 

Tucked away off St Ann's Square, an all-new late-night piano and cabaret lounge has opened in a historic building with speak-easy style entrance. Sonata is a music-led venue, a bar where piano and song are centre-stage with a programme that spans modern and classic, balancing the popular and accessible with the artistic and theatrical.

For the first time, Chester Zoo is giving you the chance to spend a magical evening exploring everything the Zoo has to offer.
