Two faces of Rivington
The very popular walking area of Lever Park was laid out by the 1st Lord Leverhulme. The southern loop, of roughly 3 miles in length, offers easy walking along wooded tracks and paths in the park. The northern loop, about 3.5 miles in length, takes you over rougher terrian on the fringe of moorland outside the park, with views as far as Clwydian Hills in North Wales on a clear day.

Moses Gate Country Park
Located just south of Bolton Town Centre sits the stunning Moses Gate Country Park, covering 750 acres. Easily accessible and with plenty of free parking available, the routes comprise of tarmacked paths and stone surfaced bridleways, making it an excellent location for bike-riding. The paths lead you around lakes and ponds, with lots of opportunity to enjoy the abundance of birdlife along the way. There's also a large children's playground to keep the kids entertained while you take in the wonderful country air.

Smithills Country Park
Enjoy 2000 acres of cycling and walking trails in this large country park in Bolton. The parkland that surrounds the Grade 1-listed Smithills Hall has a history dating back to the 14th century, and includes lakes, woodland, farmland and moorland with superb views of the West Pennine Moors.

Jumbles Country Park is located in the Bradshaw Valley, around four miles north of Bolton Town Centre, and boasts a beautiful parkland, reservoir and picturesque walks through a network of footpaths radiating up the valley and across adjacent hills. The Tea Garden Café provides food and light refreshments, and visitors can enjoy exhibitions and events held all year round.
