1. The Black Keys at Co-op Live 

Multi-Grammy Award-winning rock band, The Black Keys, will be playing Co-op Live during it’s opening week on 27 April, and will be joined by Circa Waves. The rock and roll duo are preparing to release their 12th studio album Ohio Players, on 5 April 2024.

2. James Blunt at AO Arena 

Coming to Manchester’s AO Arena on 12 April is James Blunt, the You’re Beautiful singer rose to fame in the early 2000s with their debut album Back to Bedlam and has stayed in the public eye ever since. Blunt released his most recent album Who We Used To Be in 2023 and will be touring until the end of November this year.

3. Hayao Miyazaki's Dreams at Stoller Hall 

The Miyazaki Dreams concert is an immersion in the fabulous atmosphere of the films of the world-famous Japanese director and Oscar winner Hayao Miyazaki. Mystery Ensemble has collected magical music from his cartoons and compositions inspired by his creations. The evening programme includes renowned works composed by ingenious Joe Hisaishi, including My Neighbor Totoro, the legendary movie Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle, Laputa: Castle in the Sky and others.

4. Paloma Faith at Bridgewater Hall 

Coming to Bridgewater Hall on 11 April is Paloma Faith - Gearing up for another monumental chapter, the British superstar returns with the release of her sixth studio album The Glorification of Sadness via RCA Records. Earlier this week, Paloma shared the news of her new album release date and inspiration with a personal note to her fans letting them know she was “…Looking forward to sharing this new era.”

5. Dirty Laces plus guests at Night and Day  

Chris Hawkins from BBC Radio 6 presents the latest iteration of Awesome Friends, his live Music showcase in association with Manchester promoters Greyline. With Manchester local headliners Dirty Laces and support from Michael Gallagher, with more to be announced as well as a DJ set from Chris himself this is sure to be a special night.

6. King Violet plus guests at Band on the Wall  

Mancunian indie quartet King Violet are back at Band on the Wall with Vacant Weekend and Daisy Cameron this month, Their recent headline gigs have generated a buzz: with their sold out show at Night and Day Cafe featured on MCR Wire and the girl group have been named as 'Best Bands Playing in January' this year.

7. Nyah Grace at Band on the Wall 

Coming to Band on the Wall on 1 May is Nyah Grace. Originally from the depths of rural Oregon, Nyah’s jazzy neo-soul sound echoes some of those artists ever-present in her early musical memories, such as Lauryn Hill, D’Angelo & Estelle. Supported by Finnerz and The Backbeat, this evening promises to be a neo-soul filled extravaganza.

8. Phoebe Hall at Yes 

Rising star Phoebe Hall is set to play Yes Basement on 18 April, bringing her blend of indie and alternative pop to Manchester. Having supported Manchester’s Larkins early last year, Phoebe is returning to the city’s stage to showcase her latest EP Stop Before it Starts, including her break out single Better.

9. Swim School at Deaf Institute 

Scottish 3-piece Swim School are coming to Manchester on 18 April at the illustrious Deaf Institute. The indie-pop trio host an eclectic collection of songs featuring the inspired tones of The Cure, Wolf Alice and The Night Café. Having already turned heads in Scotland, Swim School are starting this tour in Manchester and is set to be a great show.

10. Plasticine at The Castle  

Glasgow alt-rockers Plasticine is set to headline The Castle on 18 April. The band’s combination of huge choruses and surging, overdriven guitars is sure to go down a storm. With local support yet to be announced, the show is set to sell out soon, so get your tickets while you can.
