One year ago, Oasis returned home for a run of sold-out shows at Heaton Park. It was a reunion that broke records, dominated headlines and brought the country together for a summer of music that felt bigger than just a gig.
Since then, rumours have continued to swirl about a potential 12-night residency at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium, although nothing has been confirmed.
While fans wait to see what comes next, Manchester remains the beating heart of the Oasis story. This is the city that shaped the band, and it's still full of the places, attitude and energy that inspired their sound.
So, if you're planning a trip to Manchester, consider this your Oasis fan's guide to the city, a full-day itinerary packed with iconic locations, local haunts and musical landmarks that can easily be fitted into a visit to England's unofficial second city.
Best Breakfast in Manchester to Start Your Oasis-Inspired Day
Forget the gimmicks - if you want a proper start to the day, this is it. Koffee Pot’s been feeding Manchester since the 1978, and it still does one of the best breakfasts in the city.
Go big and get a full Irish. It’s not Oasis-related, but it feels right - hearty, no nonsense, and sets you up properly for the day ahead. The lads are famously proud of their Irish roots, so why not bring a little bit of Ireland into your Manchester morning?
Then head down the street to wash it all down with a coffee from Morning Glory. Because what’s the story? Born from a deep-rooted passion for the North, every corner of the café feels like a love letter to Manchester, with subtle design nods and an Oasis-inspired aesthetic throughout.
Get the Oasis Look: Where to Shop in Manchester City Centre
You can’t do an Oasis day without thinking about the wardrobe. Parka on, decent trainers, three stripes - you know the drill.
Head into adidas, Fred Perry or Flannels in the city centre, try something on (or treat yourself if it feels right), and you’re halfway to looking like you’ve just stepped out onto Maine Road in ’96.
And there’s more to come - Berghaus has chosen Manchester Arndale for its first standalone North West store, opening later this year.
Where to Eat Lunch in Manchester’s Northern Quarter
You could keep it casual here because Manchester’s Northern Quarter is full of solid spots and nothing overly polished. Think a pint, something a bit greasy, and that laid-back indie atmosphere - the kind of place Oasis would’ve blended into before everything kicked off.
Start with a coffee at the aptly named Morning Glory, then take your pick from local favourites like Mackie Mayor, Firehouse, Yard & Coop, Sugar Junction, Fig and Sparrow or Bay Horse Tavern. When you’re ready for a break, settle in with a drink at Gullivers, The Freemount, Wilson’s Social or Tib Street Tavern and take it all in.
Afternoon Option 1: Oasis, Football & Manchester
Catch a game at the Etihad or, if it’s not a match day, go behind the scenes with a stadium tour. Liam and Noel’s allegiance is well documented, and football runs through the band’s identity as much as music does.

Afternoon Option 2: Iconic Oasis Locations in Manchester Every Fan Should Visit
If you’d rather keep it more Oasis-focused:
1. Sifters Records (Burnage)
Immortalised in Shakermaker. Still there, ran by the same bloke, still worth the trip for fans. And a great photo op with not one, but two murals of the brother’s outside the shop.
2. Johnny Roadhouse Music (Oxford Road)
Legendary Manchester music shop. Noel used to go here - enough said.
3. Microdot Boutique (King Street)
Run by Brian Cannon, the man behind Oasis’s iconic album artwork. A must if you’re into the visuals as much as the music. If you're lucky, he'll be in the shop to chat to you.
4. The Pevrill of The Peak (Great Bridgwater Street)
Swing by The Pev to recreate the famous Kev Cummins photo of the brothers before they shot to stardom, complete with that unmistakable green tiled backdrop.
Where to Eat in Manchester Chinatown
As Liam sang: “Take me down, through the streets of Chinatown…”
No excuses - you’ve got to go.
Manchester’s Chinatown is one of the biggest in the UK, packed with proper spots for Chinese, Thai, Korean and more. It’s the kind of place where the best move is to pick somewhere busy, order far too much, and see where it takes you.
Look out for local favourites like Happy Seasons, Happy Lemon, Pho Cue and Kung Fu Noodle, then finish with a photo under the iconic archway - it’s a must when you’re in this part of the city.
Best Oasis-Themed Bar in Manchester: Definitely Maybe
You won’t want to end your night anywhere else. Owned by Bolton’s own Gallagher brothers, Paul and Mark, Definitely Maybe has become one of the best Oasis-themed bars in Manchester, known for its regular live music and electric atmosphere.
Step inside and it feels like part bar, part shrine - Oasis on the speakers, references on every wall, and a crowd that genuinely gets it, whether you’re singing along or just taking it all in. You’ll also find one of the most impressive collections of Oasis memorabilia in the city, from photos and shirts to rare pieces, with plenty of stories to go with it (especially from the owners).
If you want something to properly remember the night, you can even get an Oasis-themed tattoo on-site at Supersonic Ink.
