Kick off a night at the theatre in Manchester with a bit of drama before the curtain even rises. The city’s theatre scene is just as impressive. From the grand, ornate splendour of the Palace Theatre and Manchester Opera House, to the sleek, contemporary style at Lowry, to the creative, community-driven vibe at HOME, to the cutting-edge creativity unfolding at Royal Exchange, there is truly something for every taste.

Luckily, the fun doesn’t have to start and end with the show. Treat yourself to a pre-theatre meal in Manchester and make the evening really special. Whether it’s a chic dinner or a comforting family favourite, the city is full of great restaurants offering pre-theatre dining deals in Manchester that are big on flavour.

Diners can enjoy two courses for £20 or three for £25, with each main course accompanied by a choice of side to complete the meal.

Showcasing Zouk’s signature modern Indian cuisine, the menu combines bold flavours, fresh ingredients, and a touch of indulgence, making it the ideal way to begin an evening out. Guests can begin with tempting starters such as pan-fried king prawns with garlic, chilli, and lemon, classic duck and chicken liver pâté served with cranberry compote, or Sicilian-style arancini filled with mozzarella and butternut squash. For the main course, choices include chicken fillet baked in a creamy porcini mushroom sauce, Italiana’s signature risotto with porcini and pecorino, spicy rigatoni finished in the oven with a rich pink sauce, or a grilled salmon dish served with asparagus and baby prawns in cream sauce. To finish, diners can indulge in traditional Italian desserts like homemade tiramisu, crème brûlée with raspberries, or pistachio cannoli.
