Events are taking place throughout the first week of November, with traditional bonfires and family-friendly entertainment.
Whether you’re planning an evening with the family or looking for somewhere to meet friends, here are some of the Bonfire Night events taking place across Greater Manchester this year.
Important information: All events may be subject to change so please keep checking for further updates and before setting out to attend these events.
1. Free Fireworks in Manchester’s Parks
Saturday 7 November | Free entry
Manchester City Council is bringing its major public fireworks celebrations back to three of the city’s parks this November, with free events at Heaton Park, Wythenshawe Park and Platt Fields Park.
Each location will host a reduced-noise, low-impact fireworks display at 5pm, followed by the main fireworks show at 8pm. The earlier display has been designed with families with young children and people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in mind.
There will also be lantern-making workshops in the weeks leading up to the events, with family-friendly lantern parades taking place ahead of the main displays.
The council has confirmed that additional entertainment details for each park will be announced separately, so check back here for updates closer to the date.
When: Saturday 7 November, with reduced-noise displays at 5pm and main displays at 8pm.
Where: Heaton Park, Wythenshawe Park and Platt Fields Park, Manchester.
2. Salford Firework Weekend
Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November | Free entry
Buile Hill Park – Saturday 31 October from 4pm
At Buile Hill Park, there’ll be three firework displays to suit all ages - from the quieter Little Sparks show for younger children and families, to the louder Firecracker display, and the big finale main show. You’ll also find a funfair, food and drink stalls, marshmallow toasting and the popular fire walk.
Please note there will be no bonfire at Buile Hill Park. This decision helps reduce our carbon footprint and gives everyone more space to enjoy the fireworks safely.
Prince’s Park – Sunday 1 November from 4pm
At Prince’s Park, visitors can look forward to a traditional bonfire, funfair, food and drink, and another stunning firework display.

Rochdale Bonfire and Fireworks Display
The final event takes place at Cronkeyshaw Common on Wednesday 4 November. The bonfire is lit at 7pm, followed by the reduced-noise fireworks display at 7.30pm.
Food and soft drinks will be available to buy. There are no toilet facilities or on-site parking, and the event is wheelchair-accessible.

All three events are free, with no booking required. The council asks visitors to walk or use public transport where possible and to be considerate of local residents when parking nearby.
4. Digital Bonfire Night at Printworks
Thursday 5 November | Free entry
For something different this Bonfire Night, head to Printworks in Manchester city centre for an indoor fireworks experience using its digital ceiling, lights and music.
The free event takes place in the Pumpyard, with two storytime sessions featuring BBC Radio 1 presenter and former CBBC presenter Katie Thistleton, alongside children’s favourite Hacker T Dog.
The programme begins at 4.30pm, with nominated names displayed on the digital ceiling. At 5pm, there’s an SEN-friendly storytime session, followed by a digital fireworks display at 5.20pm. A second storytime session, open to everyone, takes place at 5.45pm, before the main musical fireworks experience at 6.15pm.
A live choir will perform from 6.30pm until 7pm, and free sweet treats will be available. Seasonal drinks will also be served.
When: Thursday 5 November, 4.30pm–7pm.
5. Cockfields Farm Fireworks
5-8 November 2026 | Ticketed event
Cockfields Farm in Ashton-under-Lyne is hosting a family fireworks event featuring a low-bang display set to Disney songs.
The fireworks begin at 7pm, with the farm opening at 4pm to give visitors time to enjoy the entertainment beforehand.
Food trucks will serve hot food and sweet treats, including pizza, hot dogs, jacket potatoes and doughnuts. Families can also purchase an optional s’mores kit for toasting marshmallows over an open flame.
The display is designed to reduce the loudest noises associated with fireworks, making it an alternative for families who prefer a lower-noise experience.
Where: Cockfields Farm, Lees New Road, Ashton-under-Lyne
6. Bowdon Bonfire, Altrincham
Friday 6 November | Ticketed event
Bowdon Bonfire returns to Bowdon Cricket Hockey and Squash Club with a traditional bonfire, three fireworks displays and a drone light show.

When: Friday 6 November, 6pm–10pm.
Where: Bowdon Cricket Hockey and Squash Club, South Downs Road, Altrincham
