Manchester Village Pride: Events, Parties and Family Activities This August Bank Holiday Weekend

Black Gold Arts: Summer Festival at Aviva Studios will bring together some of the UK's most exciting QTIPOC and Global Majority artists. Bringing a vibrant celebration of creativity, culture and community. Enjoy circus, dance, live music, fashion, drag, interactive performance and joyful moments for all ages. 

For those looking to extend the celebrations into the evening, Sexy Fish Manchester is hosting a Bank Holiday weekend of dining experiences, free-flowing brunches and lunches, alongside DJs, live musicians and performers throughout the long weekend.

At The Library Champagne Bar, visitors can raise a glass with a specially created Pride cocktail before heading out to enjoy the festivities across the city.

Music lovers won't want to miss Pride Rock at Gorilla, featuring headline performance from alt-rock star Cassyette alongside a line-up of rock, metal and alternative acts championing LGBTQ+ talent and diversity within the music scene.

For something uniquely Manchester, follow the Manchester LGBTQ+ History Trail in Spinningfields, a fascinating outdoor exhibition tracing key moments in the city's LGBTQ+ history through a colourful timeline and immersive trail experience.

Those looking for a fabulously flamboyant night out can tumble down the rabbit hole at Richmond Tea Rooms' Mad Hatter's Tea Party, an adults-only evening of drag performances, games, entertainment and plenty of Wonderland-inspired fun.

Get Pride-ready with colourful accessories, vintage fashion, artwork and gifts from Afflecks independent traders, including queer artist collective Dotty Poppy, glitter and Pride specialists Make Up or Break Up, and iconic vintage destination American Graffiti. Throughout the weekend, leave a message of support on the Community Pride Wall, helping create a vibrant display of encouragement and connection. You can also take part in a Candle Holder Making Workshop, creating something meaningful ahead of the annual Candlelit Vigil in Sackville Gardens delivered in partnership with George House Trust.

Manchester Village Pride isn't just about parties and nightlife. Families can get involved too, with a range of welcoming events designed to celebrate love, inclusion and community together. From creative activities and live entertainment to family festivals and hands-on workshops, there are plenty of opportunities to make memories over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Factory Pride: Family will be celebrating with free activities for the whole family, including badge making, face painting and a family game show on Saturday 22nd August. 

Proud Fest at Great Northern Warehouse returns with a free day of live performances, arts and crafts, play activities and community stalls. Created by Proud 2 b Parents, the festival celebrates LGBTQ+ families and provides a fun, inclusive space for parents, carers, children and allies to come together.

Family Pride Day at Nell's Kampus brings the popular Kampus gardens to life with children's crafts, market stalls, a kids' disco and plenty of family fun. With free entry and delicious pizza, gelato and drinks available throughout the day, it's a relaxed way to celebrate Pride together.

At the Science and Industry Museum, families can get creative with Pride-inspired workshops, designing colourful woven paper patterns influenced by rainbow flags and banners of protest. Don't forget to look out for the museum's team in the Manchester Pride Parade too.

Within Manchester Village Pride, Monday's dedicated Family Day focuses on LGBTQ+ parents, families and community, creating a welcoming environment for all ages alongside the Lifestyle and Community Expo in Sackville Gardens.
