Summer in Manchester is always an exciting time, and 2025 is shaping up to be unforgettable. With massive live gigs, next-level festivals, incredible food, and culture around every corner, there's so much to look forward to. If you're visiting Manchester this summer, or thinking of planning a trip, these are five standout experiences you absolutely can’t miss.

1. Live Music Events

Back to Top of List

Manchester knows music, and this summer it's turning up the volume with a packed line up of iconic shows, outdoor gigs, and local festivals you’ll want to mark on your calendar.

Sounds of the City at Castlefield Bowl was a true summer highlight, drawing big names like Elbow, Basement Jaxx, and Rizzle Kicks to the heart of the city in a laid-back, open-air setting.

Still to come, Festwich in nearby Prestwich brings full-on festival vibes and top-tier tribute acts - a high-energy addition to a music season only Manchester could deliver. And over in Wythenshawe, Sam Fender and Fontaines D.C. are set to take the stage, closing out the summer with a bang.

The biggest music moment of the year? Without a doubt, Oasis returning to their roots with five unforgettable, sold-out nights at Heaton Park. It was the ultimate homecoming and a celebration of the band’s legacy in the very city where it all began. If you couldn't get Oasis tickets or already in the post-gig blues, there's loads to do around the city that's music and Oasis themed. This season, Manchester takes centre stage once again, as the city rolls out the red carpet for fans during MCR Live 25. It's a city-wide celebration packed with gigs, pop-ups, and surprises.

If you missed out on tickets to the big Oasis reunion this summer, don’t worry – there are still plenty of ways to celebrate the city’s legendary music scene. Whether you’re a lifelong Oasis fan or just curious about Manchester’s musical roots, there’s so much to discover across the city and beyond.
