Sustainable Practices at YOTEL Manchester Deansgate
1. Eco-Friendly Amenities
YOTEL offers guests a stay that prioritises comfort without compromising the environment. Key features include:
-
Sustainable mattresses made by Naturalmat from organic coconut fibres and sheep wool, providing an eco-conscious and luxurious sleep experience.
-
Desks made from reclaimed Terrazzo materials reduce reliance on new resources.
-
Recycling bins, stayover services upon request, and the replacement of bottled water with filtered water fountains in tea and coffee station “galley” areas encourage guests to make eco-friendly choices.
-
Use of ozonated water ensures a safe and environmentally friendly cleaning process throughout the hotel.
2. Innovative Building Practices
Sustainability is integral to YOTEL’s design, starting with the preservation of Dalton House’s historic structure. The skeleton of Dalton House was retained during construction, minimising waste. Reclaimed stones and bricks were incorporated into the hotel’s walls and feature prominently in the Motley Bar and Restaurant, preserving the building’s heritage while promoting resource efficiency.
3. Harnessing Renewable Energy
YOTEL’s energy strategy focuses on renewable and efficient solution, from 24 solar panels installed on the roof provide sustainable energy to power hotel operations, to heat recovery system optimising fresh air supply and extraction, improving energy efficiency and reducing environmental impact.
4. Team Engagement in Sustainability
Representatives from each department meet regularly to brainstorm and implement eco-friendly initiatives, aiming to enhance the hotel’s green mission while supporting the bar and restaurant with fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
Sustainability Across Greater Manchester: YOTEL’s Inspiration
YOTEL Manchester Deansgate celebrates the shared vision of sustainability within the region and draws inspiration from local businesses like Fresh Start Waste Removal, a company dedicated to environmentally responsible waste management and recycling.
Why Sustainability Matters to YOTEL

The hotel’s commitment reflects a belief in reducing the carbon footprint of travel and embedding eco-friendly practices into every aspect of its operations.
